Twenty-five seminarians were evacuated by the Blue Helmets of the UN
Mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo (MONUSCO).
The seminarians
evacuated in Mbuji-Mayi were part of the group that went missing in the
forest as a result of the assault, on February 18, at the Major Seminary
of Malole in Kananga, in Central Kasai, by militants of the traditional
late chief Kamuina Nsapu.
Following the appeal launched by His Exc. Mgr. Emmanuel Bernard Kasanda
Mulenga, Bishop of Mbuji-Mayi, the twenty-five seminarians were able to
return to their families, after they were stranded in Kananga because
the road that connects in Mbuji-Mayi is blocked due to the presence of
Kamuina Nsapu militiamen.
