Roman Catholic Archbishop Giuseppe Leanza - who was recalled from a post in Ireland in July - has now become the Vatican's envoy to Prague.
"Giuseppe Leanza, the new ... ambassador of the Holy See to Prague ... has presented his credentials to President Vaclav Klaus," the president's office said in a statement.
The 68-year-old was recalled from Dublin in July following the publication of a judicial report into the Catholic Church's handling of abuse claims against 19 clerics in the diocese of Cloyne between 1996 and 2009.
