Doctors have advised the Archbishop of Armagh (71) to rest after he nearly collapsed while celebrating Confirmation at the Church of St Joseph in the parish of Kildress.
He was rushed to hospital last Tuesday after becoming ill and having to lie down in front of the packed church.
The Cardinal, who had been under great pressure in recent weeks, was taken to Craigavon Area Hospital.
A nurse in the congregation was called to the front to put the Cardinal in the recovery position during the anxious wait for an ambulance to arrive.
He was discharged the next day by doctors after a medical assessment and is now said to be resting at home in Armagh.
The near-collapse came in the wake of a series of calls in recent weeks for Cardinal Brady to stand down from his role following the sex abuse scandal which has rocked the Catholic church.
The primate faced down calls for his resignation over disclosures that he failed to report complaints of abuse made against Fr Brendan Smyth in the 1970s.
Cardinal Brady has apologised for his role in the handling of sex abuse cases.
