The DVD, 'You Will Be My Witnesses', was produced by the Vocation Directors of Ireland's 26 dioceses and the Vocation Directors of Religious Orders.
The DVD has three short 10-minute films in which three diocesan priests, two religious sisters, a religious brother and a seminarian speak about how they joined the ministry.
Fr Patrick Rushe, national co-ordinator of Diocesan Vocations, said that the DVD would be used as "a resource to help develop an awareness of what vocation to religious life and to priesthood is like".
Earlier, the cardinal presided at a Mass to mark the formal close of the Year of Vocation which was attended by Fr Rushe; Frances Dignan, director of Vocations Ireland; Marie Hogan, president of St Joseph's Young Priests Society, and Brenda Drumm, Year of Vocation project manager.
The vocations drive was launched in April 2008 by the Archbishop of Dublin, Diarmuid Martin, in a bid to tackle the chronic shortage in clergy numbers in Ireland.
Its aim was to enlist great participation of the laity in the running of the Catholic Church as well as to encourage members to join the priesthood and the religious life.
On Saturday, Vocation Vigils were held at the monastic sites of Glendalough in Co Wicklow, St Brigid's Well in Co Kildare; Clonmacnoise, Co Offaly; and Dromantine, Co Down.
