A Diocese of Las Vegas spokeswoman says the church will respond if anyone comes forward to raise allegations about the conduct of defrocked Roman Catholic priest John Patrick Feeney while he was in southern Nevada in 1985-86.
The Diocese of Reno administered the region before the Las Vegas diocese was created in 1995.
Members of the Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests say they didn't know of any victims in Nevada.
But organization President Barbara Blaine held a news conference outside Guardian Angel Cathedral just off the Las Vegas Strip to call attention to the case.
Records show Feeney served as an associate pastor at St. Francis De Sales church in Las Vegas and a prison chaplain under the auspices of St. Joan of Arc in Las Vegas.
He's now 81. He was convicted in 2004 and sentenced to 15 years in prison for sexually assaulting two brothers in 1978 in Freedom, Wisconsin.
Yesterday, the brothers filed a fraud and fraud and negligence lawsuit alleging the Catholic Diocese of Green Bay knew about Feeney but allowed him access to boys.
