Glenstal monk releases music CD

A new CD has been released by a monk from Glenstal Abbey, a spiritual centre known for its tradition of Gregorian chant.

The offering - entitled Canticum Domini (the Lord's Song) - is an album of instrumental music
that takes its inspiration from chant melodies.

Fr John Columba McCann, one of the Abbey organists, specialises in improvisation as a musical art and displays, in over an hour of playing in 28 different movements, the wide range of styles and moods that can arise in improvisations based on simple chant melodies.

Canticum Domini is available to buy at the Glenstal Abbey shop, can be downloaded from iTunes and at www.glenstal.org/shop
