Bishop Deenihan has announced the following clerical changes for the Diocese of Meath, effective from July 10th 2026.
Fr. Paddy Kearney, Parish Priest of Kilskyre has retired.
Fr Seamus Mulvaney, Parish Priest of Tubberclair (Glasson) to retire.
Fr Declan Smith, Parish Priest of Taghmon to be Parish Priest of Kilskyre.
Fr. Phil Gaffney, Administrator, Mullingar to be Administrator of Taghmon, in addition.
Fr. Barry Condron, Parish Priest of Castletown-Geoghegan and Tyrrellspass to be Parish Priest of Tubberclair.
Fr. Robert McCabe, Curate, Navan to be Parish Priest of Castletown-Geoghegan and Tyrrellspass.
Fr Norman Allred, Curate, Mullingar to be Curate, Taghmon
Fr. Marcin Pietras, Polish Chaplaincy to be Curate Mullingar, in addition.
Fr. Andrei Stolnicu, Curate, Mullingar to return to Diocese of Iasi, Romania on completion of term.
Fr Iulian-Robert Gherghel, Diocese of Iasi, Romania to be Curate Mullingar.
Bishop Deenihan expresses his gratitude to both Fr. Kearney and Fr Mulvaney for their long and faithful service to the Diocese. Both men have served the Diocese for over fifty-five years each.
Bishop Deenihan also recorded his appreciation to Fr. Andrei Stolnicu who returns to the Diocese of Iasi in Romania after his five-year term is completed.
The Diocese currently has five priests from Iasi and appreciates their service and the generosity of their Bishop in making them available.
Bishop Deenihan wishes those with new appointments every blessing as they assume their new roles.
He commended parishes for the welcome and support they offer to new priests and encouraged parishes to support and pray for vocations.
