"The Radical Left Lunatics might not like this, but I think it is quite nice!!! President DJT," he wrote beneath the most recent post.
Trump uploaded the original "blasphemous" AI-generated image showing him as Jesus on his Truth Social platform moments after launching a scathing tirade against Pope Leo XIV on Sunday.
The image shows Trump healing a figure who resembles Jeffrey Epstein or potentially a wounded military servicemember in a hospital bed. Nurses, veterans and active duty military personnel surround him, while additional figures can be observed in a representation of heaven above and behind him.
Also positioned behind him are iconic American landmarks, including the Statue of Liberty and the Lincoln Memorial. A giant American flag and multiple military aircraft and eagles hover in the sky near the heavenly depiction, reports the Mirror US.
"Trump is now posting AI images of himself as Jesus Christ healing, what appears to be, a young Jeffrey Epstein," Democratic commentator Harry Sisson shared on X, including a screenshot of the Truth Social post. Another user responded beneath it, "That is some blasphemous bulls***."
Trump seemed to remove the contentious post days afterward as his digital confrontation with Pope Leo escalated.
The initial post portraying Trump as Jesus surfaced just minutes after the president unleashed a lengthy tirade against Pope Leo, labeling him "WEAK on Crime, and terrible for Foreign Policy" while claiming responsibility for his appointment to the papacy.
The president intensified his attacks Sunday evening as he disembarked from Air Force One, returning from a Florida weekend that included attending UFC 327 and a round of golf.
"Pope Leo is WEAK on Crime, and terrible for Foreign Policy," Trump wrote. "He talks about 'fear' of the Trump Administration, but doesn't mention the FEAR that the Catholic Church, and all other Christian Organizations, had during COVID when they were arresting priests, ministers, and everybody else, for holding Church Services, even when going outside, and being ten and even twenty feet apart."
The president then shifted his focus to praising the pontiff's brother Louis over Leo himself, drawing attention to Louis's support of MAGA. "He gets it, and Leo doesn't!" Trump wrote.
Trump went on to claim that Pope Leo "thinks it's OK for Iran to have a Nuclear Weapon" and voiced his displeasure at having a pope "who thinks its a terrible idea that America attacked Venezuela, a Country that was sending massive amounts of Drugs into the United States and, even worse, emptying their prisons, including murderers, drug dealers, and killers, into our Country.
"And I don't want a Pope who criticizes the President of the United States because I'm doing exactly what I was elected, IN A LANDSLIDE, to do, setting Record Low Numbers in Crime, and creating the Greatest Stock Market in History," the president added.
Trump went on to claim that Pope Leo owed his elevation to him, implying that Leo's appointment as pontiff was a direct consequence of Trump's time in office.
"Leo should be thankful because, as everyone knows, he was a shocking surprise. He wasn't on any list to be Pope, and was only put there by the Church because he was an American, and they thought that would be the best way to deal with President Donald J. Trump," the president wrote. "If I wasn't in the White House, Leo wouldn't be in the Vatican."
The president rounded off his outburst by accusing Pope Leo of meeting with "Obama Sympathizers" without his blessing and "catering to the Radical Left.
"Unfortunately, Leo's Weak on Crime, Weak on Nuclear Weapons, does not sit well with me, nor does the fact that he meets with Obama Sympathizers like David Axelrod, a LOSER from the Left, who is one of those who wanted churchgoers and clerics to be arrested," Trump wrote. "Leo should get his act together as Pope, use Common Sense, stop catering to the Radical Left, and focus on being a Great Pope, not a Politician. It's hurting him very badly and, more importantly, it's hurting the Catholic Church! President DONALD J. TRUMP."
Trump's tirade comes after Pope Leo's denunciation of worldwide conflicts the day before, which seemed to be a veiled rebuke of the president.
"Enough of the idolatry of self and money! Enough of the display of power! Enough of war! True strength is shown in serving life. #Peace," the pontiff posted on X, accompanied by a Biblical passage.
On Sunday, while observing Orthodox Easter, the pope delivered further pointed remarks, this time directly referencing specific conflicts.
"Today, many Eastern Churches celebrate Easter according to the Julian calendar. In communion of faith in the Risen Lord, I extend my heartfelt wishes for peace to all these communities. Let us #PrayTogether for all those suffering due to war, particularly for the dear people of Ukraine. May the light of Christ bring comfort to afflicted hearts and strengthen the hope for peace. May the international community's attention to the tragedy of this war not waver!" Leo declared in his opening post.
His second message spotlighted the Israeli offensive on Lebanon, which has resulted in more than 2,000 deaths, according to data from the nation's health ministry. "In these days of sorrow, fear, and unwavering hope in God, I feel closer than ever to the beloved people of Lebanon," he wrote. "The principle of humanity, inscribed in the conscience of every person and recognized in international law, entails a moral obligation to protect the civilian population from the horrific effects of war. I call on the parties in the conflict to declare a ceasefire and urgently seek a peaceful solution."
The third message addressed the ongoing conflict in Sudan: "Next Wednesday marks the third anniversary of the start of the bloodstained conflict in Sudan. How much the Sudanese people are suffering, innocent victims of this inhuman tragedy! I renew my fervent appeal to the warring parties to silence their weapons and begin, without preconditions, a sincere dialogue aimed at ending this fratricidal war as soon as possible."
