He said he was particularly pleased to see support directed to Donegal, including the allocation of €93,498 for essential conservation works at Donegal Town Methodist Church.
He noted that this funding will enable critical stabilisation of the church’s gable walls, structural repairs to internal cracking, the safeguarding of the bellcote, and the repair of its historic stained glass window.
Deputy Gallagher emphasised that investment of this kind is vital to ensuring that significant heritage buildings in Donegal can be preserved, restored, and kept in active use for future generations.
Pat the Cope also acknowledged the wider importance of the scheme in sustaining traditional craft skills and supporting the communities who work tirelessly to protect Donegal’s built heritage.
