Pope Francis consecrates ‘Voice of the Unborn Bell’ for Zambia

The blessing of the "Voice of the Unborn" bell, destined for Zambia

During the Wednesday audience, the Pope stressed that the Feast of the Annunciation of the Lord on 25th March in Poland is celebrated as the Day of the Sanctity of Life.

The Holy Father pointed out that the Voice of the Unborn Bells are a reminder of the need to protect life from conception to natural death.

“As a sign of the need to protect human life from conception to natural death, the Yes to Life Foundation is donating to Zambia the Voice of the Unborn, the bell I have blessed. May its sound carry the message that every life is sacred and inviolable," Pope Francis said on 22nd March, during the general audience.

Before the audience, the Pope blessed the Voice of the Unborn Bell.

This Bell will go to the Cathedral of the Child Jesus in Lusaka, Zambia. It will also visit many Zambian towns and cities.

The blessing of the Bell, which took place at the Paul VI Auditorium, was attended by Lusaka Metropolitan Archbishop Alick Banda and the vice-president of the Yes To Life Foundation Bogdan Romaniuk

The Voice of the Unborn Bells already ring in Poland, Ukraine, and Ecuador. Each time, Pope Francis is the first to strike them.

Other countries — France, Mexico, and Nicaragua — are also interested in this initiative.
