Anglican group laments bishop's decision to become Catholic

A tradition-minded group within the Church of England has expressed regret at the announcement that Anglican Bishops John Broadhurst will enter the Catholic Church.

The “Catholic Group” within the synod of the Church of England—whose members are committed to remaining within the Anglican communion—said that it was disappointed that Bishop Broadhurst was leaving the fold.

The wording of the BBC account conveys the delicacy of the group’s standing within the Anglican communion:
The Catholic Group said it was determined to stay in the Church of England and fight for a better deal for Anglicans who did not want to serve under women bishops.
