Alabama priest abandons assignment, reported to DA

 Alex Crow: Who is Alex Crow? Mobile priest defrocked after abandoning duties

The Archdiocese of Mobile announced that  abandoned his assignment and may no longer exercise his priestly ministry. 

The archdiocese reported Father Crow to the district attorney “due to the circumstances of his departure.”

The 30-year-old priest reportedly left the country for Spain with an 18-year-old woman.

Statement from the Archdiocese of Mobile regarding Fr. Alex Crow


MOBILE, ALA. - Fr. Alex Crow abandoned his assignment in the Archdiocese. His
behavior is totally unbecoming of a priest. He has been informed by the archbishop
that he may no longer exercise ministry as a priest, nor to tell people he is a priest,
nor to dress as a priest.


In addition, due to the circumstances of his departure, we have reported this to the
district attorney.
