In June, a "day for Lebanon" will be celebrated at the Marian Shrine of
Fatima, Portugal.
The program will begin with the recitation of the Holy
Rosary in the evening of June 24, and will end the next day with the
Eucharistic liturgy celebrated by Maronite Patriarch Boutros Bechara Rai
at the Basilica built on the site where, in 1917, Our Lady appeared to
the three children: Lucia dos Santos, Giacinta Marto and Francisco
Marto.
This was announced in recent days by the Patriarchal Commission
for the consecration of Lebanon and the East to the Immaculate Heart of
Mary, noting that during the closing Mass, the Primate of the Maronite
Church, along with other Patriarchs of the East, will renew the
consecration of the Country of cedars to the Mother of God.
The whole
organization of the pilgrimage, will be handled and followed by an
office ad hoc that is already working at the Shrine of Our Lady of
Lebanon in Harissa.
