The greatest challenge facing Pope Francis is to bring people back
into the Catholic Church without creating a crisis among practicing
Catholics, according to Cardinal Camillo Ruini, the retired vicar of the
Rome diocese.
"I pray to the Lord that the search for the lost sheep—which is
indispensable—does not disturb the consciences of the faithful in the
flock," the Italian prelate said.
Cardinal Ruini made his remark in the course of an interview with the Italian daily Corriere della Sera.
The interview was primarily devoted to the cardinal's new book, Is There an Afterlife? Death and Hope.
