Annual pastoral conference takes place in Elphin Diocese

Over 100 parishioners from all over Elphin Diocese, together with many of the priests and deacons, gathered in Boyle, Co Roscommon at the weekend for the annual pastoral conference. 

The focus for the day was a pastoral reflection on Pope Francis’ letter of encouragement on the “Joy of Love”. 

The reflection was led by Kate Liffey (National Diector of Catechetis) and Dr Jessie Rogers (NUI Maynooth).

Meanwhile, 70 children representing primary schools all over the Diocese, took part in a gathering in Abbey Community College, Boyle, to exlore their role as Confirmation Ambassadors in the Diocese of Elphin. 

Bishop Kevin assured them that the Holy Spirit will surely come, but their role is to encourage all their friends to be ready to open the door to their hearts.
