Three anti-nuclear activists, including an elderly Catholic nun, have
been ordered to pay $53,000 in damages after being convicted for
breaking into and damaging a top-security government facility that
houses enriched uranium for nuclear weapons.
Sister Megan Rice, 83, was one of the trio convicted for the 2012
break-in.
The activists cut through fences at the storehouse in Oak
Ridge, Tennessee, splashed paint and blood, and hammered on the walls in
a demonstration of their opposition to nuclear weapons.
