The culprits were in the act of carrying out the burglary when they were disrupted by gardaí.
The incident happened at 9am on Sunday morning last.
It is believed that the duo may have been spotted by a witness, who then alerted the gardaí.
The pair were arrested and brought to Carlow Garda Station and were charged in Kilkenny District Court on Monday.
