As Toibreacha an tSlánaithe, a CD of prayers, hymns, music and
scripture readings in the Irish language was officially launched by
Msgr Brendan Byrne, Administrator of Kildare & Leighlin diocese, at a
ceremony held in the Poor Clare Monastery, Graiguecullen, Carlow.
The CD contains a total of seven hymns in Irish and in Latin, and
is a project of the Ciorcal Solanus group in Carlow set up in 2010 to
promote devotion to Fr Solanus Casey OFM.
The CD was produced by the
local Irish language organisation Glór Cheatharlach specially for this
the Year of Faith, Bliain na Gaeilge and Gathering Ireland 2013.
Included in the line up are the familiar Irish prayers Ár nAthair and
Sé Do Bheatha a Mhuire, and the Poor Clare Sisters sing Regina Caeli
and Salve Regina.
The CD is available from Glór Cheatharlach, the Capuchin Friary and the Poor Clare Monastery in Carlow at €5, or from www.udar.ie at €8 incl postage.
