Bishop Czeslaw Kozon of Copenhagen, Denmark’s sole bishop, has asked the Vatican to investigate the 1991 death of an elderly nun at a Cistercian convent, according to The Copenhagen Post.The nun, who suffered from dementia, reportedly died after being locked in a garden on a cold morning.
Two former nuns discussed the matter with police last week; the nation’s justice minister pledged an investgiation.
Another newspaper reported that the bishop has known about the suspicious circumstances surrounding the death since 2001.
