A Catholic priest in Ohio has been removed from his position as a church pastor amid an allegation of sexual abuse involving a minor.
The Roman Catholic Diocese of Youngstown says the Rev. Thomas Crum has been placed on administrative leave. The allegation involves an incident that occurred more than 30 years ago.
The Rev. John Jerek, a spokesman for the diocese, said Saturday that the issue surfaced last week and that Bishop George Murry met with the alleged victim last week.
Crum had been pastor at Our Lady of Peace parish. The diocese said Crum has moved out of the parish house and is in a psychological treatment center.
The diocese said Crum is still a priest, but he could be defrocked later as the investigation continues.
Jerek said no other priests or minors are involved in the case.
