MAYO’S No1 fan Enda Kenny has admitted he’ll ask Pope Benedict to intercede on
his county’s behalf ahead of the All-Ireland football final when he jets to
the Vatican this weekend.
Speaking at the launch of online payments firm Realex’s 50 new Dublin jobs
yesterday, the Taoiseach said: “It’s an exciting week for me. I have to go and meet the Pope on Saturday and I’m going to tell him that we
need some divine intervention. We’ve waited long enough — 61 years is too
long.”
But as the Donegal Defence Forces were gunning for glory in Kilraine, Mr Kenny
sportingly predicted a draw on one of the company’s white boards.
