US President Barack Obama will meet with Pope Francis at the Vatican on March 27, the White House has announced. The January 21 announcement indicated that Obama would visit the Vatican during a trip to Europe that will include stops in the Netherlands, Belgium, and Italy.
The White House said that Obama “looks forward to discussing with Pope Francis their shared commitment to fighting poverty and growing inequality.”
