Lent 2007 - A Journey Of Reflection

Saturday 24th. March - 3rd. Station of the Cross

Bravely has Our Lord borne the galling weight of His cross; bravely has He struggled on, tottering and stumbling, longing for a moment to rest, yearning for a respite howsoever short.

But rest He will not, that He may teach us how unfalteringly we must press on to our goal.

But nature will have its way and His sight grows dim;

His strength fails and with a crash, Our Saviour falls to the ground.

Reflection

All my life, I have attempted to avoid pain and suffering as much as is possible, to make my life a comfortable one.

How unlike my Jesus I have been, who sought to suffer on every occasion for me, for me.

I should be glad when pain comes and welcomes it, because it makes me more like Jesus.
