The Irish Catholic Bishops’ Conference is organising a Day of Prayer
in Ireland for the survivors and victims of clerical sexual abuse.
In a statement issued following their Autumn General Meeting in
Maynooth, the bishops said the move is in response to a recent request
by Pope Francis to all Bishops’ Conferences around the world.
In response to the request of Pope Francis, bishops have asked the
Council for Liturgy of the Bishops’ Conference to coordinate the
preparation of liturgical resources for the dedicated Day of Prayer.
The Day of Prayer will take place on the First Friday of Lent which falls on 3 March 2017.
