Fr Ferruccio Brambillasca was
elected PIME Superior General today with a two-thirds majority. Born in Monza (Italy) on June 11 1964, he was the regional superior in Japan, where he has lived since 1998.
A graduate in dogmatic theology in Naples, he has been a priest for 24 years, working for several years (1989-1993) as an educator in Ducenta (Italy), and teaching at a seminary in Pune (India).
In his acceptance speech, he said, "I ask for your prayers and cooperation. I would also like to thank Fr Zanchi."
