The Church of Ireland Bishop of Derry and Raphoe has
offered his prayers and good wishes to Monsignor Eamon Martin as he
prepares to leave Londonderry to take up his post as Coadjutor
Archbishop to the Archdiocese of Armagh.Bishop Ken Good said it had been a pleasure to work with Monsignor Martin in the city.
"As Monsignor Eamon Martin takes up his new responsibilities in Armagh, I assure him of my prayers and very best wishes," he said. "In his ministry he combines visionary leadership with strong people skills.
"His deep, personal faith in Christ is winsome and his openness to working with those of other Christian traditions is refreshing. I feel sure that his considerable gifts will equip him well for the work to which he has been called in Armagh."
The two men spent time together yesterday welcoming the Dalai Lama to Derry.
Monsignor Martin will eventually replace Archbishop Sean Brady as leader of the Catholic Church in Ireland.
