A list of 1,000 potential abusers has been drawn up by the government
committee investigating the sexual abuse scandal within the Catholic
church.
The list has been compiled on the basis of over 2,000 complaints from
people who say they were abused by church officials since the 1950s.
Six names have been passed to the public prosecution department for
further investigation.
Many of the cases reported to the Deetman
commission took place too long ago to be taken to court.
