Former parliamentary candidate Magnus Lynius Shadee also wants to pray at Cardinal Newman’s grave in a move that is sure to infuriate the Vatican.
The occultist says the centres are at a secret location near Cofton Park in Birmingham and another venue in Coventry.
Shadee, 65, said: “I’ve always intended to open an occult centre in the cities and the Pope’s visit simply brought forward the date. The Vatican will probably be none too happy with the idea though.
‘‘I will also visit Cardinal Newman’s grave and perform prayers before the Pope arrives.
“The Birmingham centre will be in the Cofton Park area but I don’t want to reveal where just yet.’’
Pope Benedict XVI visits the cities on September 19 as part of his four-day tour of the UK which is costing an estimated £12 million.
Shadee, who failed in a bid to become an independent MP in Cambridge at the General Election, added: “I believe there’s a large demand for all aspects of the occult, witchcraft, black and white magic, practical ritual working and instruction with the paranormal.
‘‘I hope the opening of the centres will change the direction of many people who are lost in religion and give them a purpose of life after death.”
But Peter Jennings, from the Catholic Church said: “Cardinal Newman’s grave is not open to the public so he will not get near the site. The Church has nothing more to say about this man and his activities.”
