Family First New Zealand says a chain of pizza restaurants does not “seem to have learned their lesson" after the company launched an "offensive" promotional magazine in July.
Last year, Hell Pizza sent about 170,000 condoms to mailboxes to promote their Lust meat-lovers pizza, prompting a large number of complaints to the Advertising Standards Authority.
The ASA's complaints board ruled the mailout had breached advertising standards.
NZ Catholic, in an editorial last December, called on Catholics to boycott the company over its stunt and reaction to the judgment.
Hell Pizza refers to that controversy in the new magazine, called Hell-o?
"Hell's condom campaign was the most complained about campaign in the country's history.
We'd like to extend a big thanks to all the nutters out there who made this possible," the magazine says.
Family First director Bob McCoskrie said Hell-o? is offensive and called on families to boycott Hell Pizza "until they show some social responsibility and cause less offense."
McCoskrie said by distributing a magazine to families that includes provocative pictures of International model Nicky Watson, offensive comments relating to condoms, an insensitive article regarding Steve Irwin's death, objectionable language and an article on bestiality, Hell Pizza is flouting advertising guidelines.
"After our last boycott affected their sales, they showed some restraint. However, old habits die hard," McCoskrie said.
"Our advice to Hell Pizza is to get out of the bedroom and back into the kitchen where a pizza delivery company belongs," he said.
