The Catholic priest involved in a racist slur scandal has left Victoria.
Monsignor Geoff Baron said a four-year period of harassment by skateboarders provoked his notorious racist tirade, News Ltd newspapers report.
The priest is now at his brother's home in Sydney.
His outburst gained media attention after being recorded and shown on YouTube.
Monsignor Baron revealed the youths had taunted him and parish workers for years.
The skaters had physically and verbally threatened the priest, a St Patrick's Cathedral worker said.
Monsignor Baron has apologised and admitted he was hurt and ashamed.
I'm in a vulnerable position at the moment," he said.
"There is a very broad context to this and it hasn't come out yet. I'm on leave at the moment and I've got a lot to get through."
Melbourne's Vicar-General, Monsignor Les Tomlinson, said there was property damage of about $32,000 at the church.
"I've seen the damage they've caused and my own impression is they present a risk to themselves and those who use the grounds," Monsignor Tomlinson said.
