My dear bloggies, it is now just gone 6 months since I began this site with the intent being a focus on all things Catholic in Ireland but as time passed, this was deemed to be too narrow a focus so shortly after Christmas, a decision was made to go global.
At that time, the average number of visits per week was almost 300 but in the last few weeks, this has changed dramatically and since mid-May alone, the total figure of visitors to this site has nearly double to the 100,000 mark.
This now averaged out over the full term of this blogspot equates just over 4, 000 per week but the most astonishing part is that in 4 weeks alone, it has averaged 12,500 visits per week alone.
Since setting this blogspot up, it has undergone some changes in appearance, font, pictures and of course stories with a few of the stories here being exclusives and picked up on by other medii for their own coverage.
Some of the stories here have upset and offended, drawing much ire and comment but this is all part of the reason why this site exists as indeed many have found it useful and informative, with even some people living in the areas where these reports originate not knowing such a thing was happening until reading about it here!!!
It is here to be informative, open and challenging of a faith that has so many aspects to it and this is what actually challenges me as a priest also - the different facets to the same faith and how it is practised and expressed by the faithful the world over.
At times, reports on the Anglican communion have been posted here which is always good in that we should be conscious of what is happening all around us and not confine ourselves to our own faith. Though we are many, all are one.
Thank you all so much for taking the time to log in and read what is on offer here and as before, feel free to contribute, criticise, commend or just contact to say hello and let me know what is going on in your parish, diocese and beyond.
This is as much your site as anyone else's so by all means, keep it that way....and onwards to the next 100,000...
