The bishop of Arundel and Brighton Kieran Conry has launched a major four-year plan to renew his diocese using the major documents of the Second Vatican Council.
Bishop Conry, who is leading preparations for the Year of Faith in England and Wales as chairman of the Bishops' Conference's Department for Evangelisation and Catechesis, has taken the initiative by launching a period of preparation for the event.
He said the celebration will "be a moment of renewal and restoration".
Groups in parishes will form for discussions about faith which Bishop Conry hoped would find "space to speak about what we don't understand or find hard to believe, and I hope that this space will be a space where we will respect and trust one another".
