Cardinal Seán Brady, Archbishop of Armagh and All Ireland, is calling on participants of the 50th International Eucharistic Congress - which concluded last Sunday night in Dublin - to bring the faith and enthusiasm they’ve shared into world.
“The challenge will be to mediate it,” he said, “to help people to recognise the presence of Christ in your body, and in my body, and in the body of the Church, the Church the Mystical Body of Christ, and to affirm that in things, and to give them courage to stand up for what they believe in, their values, which they know are the only values that give them ultimate satisfaction.”
Reflecting on the Congress, Cardinal Brady said, “It’s not about us or about the people, it’s about praise of God, it’s above all about the Eucharistic heart of the people, especially people are here being themselves, expressing their faith in various ways, encouraging the young people.”
