A plane failed to land on its third attempt, and in failing to land, it crashed and so far, 6 lives have been lost.
Six others are still alive but two are struggling in their attempt to survive.
Not only have six lives been taken, but the lives of their loved ones who were waiting for them at the airport have also been now struck with tragedy and sadness.
Communities have also been saddened as indeed have the lives of all of us here in Ireland - North and South and further afield.
As a community of Christ, of love and of compassion, let us pray for the souls of those who lost their lives this morning, their loved ones, families, friends and their communities.
For those who are fighting for their lives, let God in His infinite wisdom, mercy and compassion tend to them and give them the strength to carry on.
For those who work in the hospitals, the emergency services and those in the airport, let us be thankful for their services which is to be there for all irrespective of the situation as it arises.....for the service of others they serve and we are truly grateful.
Lord bless them and continue to give them the faith and strength as they serve us.
In this difficult time, give all faith, courage and understanding in this most challenging of times.
This we ask through Your Son, Jesus Christ.
