A MALAHIDE Catholic lay activist has slammed Vatican authorities after
he and a number of survivors of clerical sex abuse were intimidated and
'corralled like criminals' at St Peter's Square.
Brendan Butler, who
chairs the local Justice and Peace Group, was one of a party of five
that accompanied and supported two survivors to Rome on Reformation Day,
October 31st, to mark the year of the survivor.
However, Mr Butler
claimed Italian police 'ring-fenced' the group and refused to allow them
into the square in an act of 'harassment'.
