Noting the centrality of Jesus in the life of the Church, Cardinal Rigali explained that “it is a question of being faithful by word and example to the call to be disciples of Jesus Christ.”
“To all of you the Church repeats the words of St. Paul: ‘I urge you brothers, through God's mercy, to give your bodies in living service, which is your logical offering’,” he added.
“In this Eucharistic sacrifice, the Knights of Columbus are invited once again to mobilize in the charity and truth of Christ to support the Church and be of service to all our brothers and sisters in need.”
Cardinal Rigali concluded by highlighting that “in word and action, realize that you are supported by your holy founder Fr. Michael McGivney, by St John Vianney, whose feast we celebrate today, and by all the saints.”
“And be assured that the Church needs you and blesses you,” the Archbishop of Philadelphia said in conclusion.
