Members of Seleka, the Islamist rebel movement that seized power in
the Central African Republic in March, desecrated a church, looted a
rectory and convent, and burned down huts used for religious
instruction, the Fides news agency reported.
The incidents took place in Bohong, a rural town in the western part of
the nation, after local hunters killed a Seleka colonel.
Some young
local Muslims joined in the violence.
