The newly appointed Archivist of the Vatican Secret Archives and Librarian of the Vatican Library has told L’Osservatore Romano that the two institutions “are to be considered jewels on the crown of the Church.
“I believe that memory is fundamental for constructing a solid basis for the future,” said Archbishop Jean-Louis Bruguès, OP, who was appointed Archivist and Librarian on June 26.
“And it is even more important if the memory to which we are referring is that of the Church.”
