Sendler died Monday at the age of 98.
Poland's chief Orthodox rabbi, Michael Schudrich, says the Jewish community has a duty to remember her "because she saved our children, but also our soul and the world."
He recited the Kaddish, the Jewish prayer for the dead, in front of about 200 people who gathered Sunday at Warsaw's Nozyk synagogue to remember Sendler.
She was buried on Thursday in a Catholic ceremony.
