Pope Francis has thanked Catholic charismatics for their service to the Church.
The followers of this religious movement are also committed to the Pope's concerns such as peace and reconciliation, according to a statement published by the Vatican on Thursday.
"The Holy Spirit, gift of the risen Lord, creates communion, harmony and fraternity. This is precisely what the Church is: a new reconciled humanity," said the Pope in a message to the "Catholic charismatic renewal".
Thousands of followers are gathering for a meeting in Rome this weekend to mark the Holy Year.
At the same time, Francis called on the members of the movement to be witnesses of hope, peace and unity.
Respect for their spiritual leaders should not become a cause for conflict within the Church, he said. "Always be ready to collaborate with others, especially with parishes," Francis appealed.
Holy Year meeting from Friday to Sunday
The meeting is being organised by "Charis", the Vatican's service and coordination centre for the international Charismatic Renewal.
Around 120 million people worldwide belong to the movement. It emphasises the Holy Spirit in its piety.
It is characterised by an intensive and freely organised life of prayer and worship, and also includes preaching, social and ecumenical commitment.
Charismatic groups and the faithful in local parishes often practise very different forms of worship.
