They want the decision to forbid the activity of the Templar Knights Order to be reconsidered, writes Spanish El Mundo newspaper.
They also want the fact of confiscation of Orders property to be labelled illegal.
Back in the 14th century the order consisted of 15 knights and owned 9.000 real estate units in France, Germany, Spain, Great Britain, Portugal and other countries of Europe. the total price of the property now estimates 100 billion Euros.
But the modern Templars don’t demand the return of the property.
The association, registered in Spain as a public oprganisaition, is suing Benedict XVI because he is the heir of Pope Clement V, who put the ban on Templar Knights Order in 1307.
The complaint is now considered by the Second Instance Court.
The First Instance Court refused to do it as it doestn't have authority to work with cases dating from 700 years ago.
