A subcommittee of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops
has granted $9.2 million to 84 US “home mission” dioceses, most of them
in rural areas.The funds are provided by an annual collection, and the figure represents an decrease of over $800,000 from the amount announced last year.
Projects funded include seminarian education, Catholic campus ministry, and Latino Catholic leadership training.
