BREAKING NEWS *** New Bishop-elect of Ossory appointed *** BREAKING NEWS

Fr Seamus Freeman, a native of Mullinahone in Co Tipperary, has been appointed Bishop-elect of the Diocese of Ossory.

The diocese covers most of Co Kilkenny and portions of Laois and Offaly.

He will succeed Bishop Laurence Forristal who has held the position since 1981.

Fr Freeman, who is 63 years old, is a member of the Pallotine Order.
