Supermodel Gisele Bundchen Clashes With Catholic Church

Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bundchen lashed out at the Catholic Church and its stance on premarital sex and abortion on Tuesday.

The 26-year-old current girlfriend of New England Patriots quarterback called the Church’s stance on contraception “ridiculous” and said a woman should have the right to decide if she wants to have an abortion.

Gisele said the many of the laws of the Roman Catholic Church are antiquated and that they need updating.

Speaking about premarital sex Bundchen stated “Today no one is a virgin when they get married ... show me someone who's a virgin.”

Continuing with her assault on the Church, Gisele said “It's ridiculous to ban contraceptives -- you only have to think of the diseases that are transmitted without them. I think it should be compulsory to use a contraceptive.”

On the hot topic of abortion, a practice the Church adamantly denounces, Gisele further distanced herself stating a woman’s right to choose should come first, “If she thinks she doesn't have the money or the emotional condition to raise a child, why should she give birth?”

Gisele is currently in New York for Rio de Janeiro's Fashion Week.
