Alessia Giuliani, Vatican Woman Photographer Breaks Barriers

Alessia Guiliani, a woman photographer is breaking barriers in the Vatican's traditionally male-dominated world.  

The Associated Press reports that she is the first woman to work as a photo reporter exclusively for the Vatican and the Pope. 

She is the daughter of photographer John Carlo Giuliani who used to work the Pope John Paul II.

She began in 1999 and started her own photo agency, Catholic Press Photo

Father Federico Lombardi, Papal spokesperson said that the Vatican is happy to see a woman in this role.
