Fr Brian Darcy publishes new book

A Passionist priest, who is one of the country's most popular religious broadcasters and writers, has recently published a new book entitled A Little Bit of Healing

According to Fr Brian Darcy, c.p., the book focuses on healing both in the church and in the world in general.  He claims that with crises both in the church and in the banks, a lot of trust has broken down in Irish society.

In his book Fr Brian, who is based at The Graan, Enniskillen in County Fermanagh says “Healing is a slow organic process. It is a journey each of us much launch out on, otherwise we choose to imprison ourselves in the dark vaults of despair. Hopefully, we can be brave enough to bring healing to our wounded church and with God's grace, healing to our wounded world.”

“In short healing requires a number of steps, step one is a time for reflection, openness and perspective, step two on the healing journey is facing the causes of the hurt as honestly and as objectively as possible.  Step three requires us to sift through what can be changed and accept what cannot and step four is realistically looking to the future with courage and hope.”

Fr Brian also confirmed that all royalties from his book go to charity with the Society of Saint Vincent De Paul and Goal being the main recipients.

The book is published by Veritas and retails at €11.99.
