Archbishop Martin: Monitoring of child abusers 'inadequate'

The Archbishop of Dublin Diarmuid Martin is admitting that there may be still an ongoing risk to children in Ireland from child sex abusers.

Doctor Martin said the monitoring of perpetrators is "inadequate".

He also believes the Catholic Church cannot move forward without honestly and completely addressing the past, which he says will take time.

However Archbishop Martin said the monitoring of those who committed abuse must also be a priority.
