Irish General Election 2007

My dear bloggies, the madness of politics is engulfing this wee emerald Isle for the first time in 5 years and it certainly looks as if the current Government are on the way out (thanks be to God!!) and there has indeed been a lot of debate and disgust about eh way this election was called.

The sleeveen Bertie (our prime minister) done the cloak and dagger deed at 8am on Sunday morning and was perhaps hoping to avoid any scandal being visited upon him but the whole Bertiegate saga is coming back to haunt him.

It could certainly be detrimental to the votes he would be hoping to receive on Thursday May 24th which will ensure the disenfranchising of the 300,ooo+ student population in this country.

I have come across a great website set up by aforementioned students which I am going to keep to the right of this site as a semi-permanent link throughout the election and click on it to see who is running in your area and what they stand for.
