When not performing or on tour, the trio serve in parishes across the diocese.
Fr Eugene O’Hagan is Administrator of the Parish of Ballyclare and
Ballygowan with two churches, the Church of the Sacred Heart and the
Church of The Holy Family.
Fr Martin O’Hagan is parish priest of Newtownards and Comber with
two churches, the Church of St Patrick (Newtownards) and the Church of
Our Lady of the Visitation (Comber).
Fr David Delargy is parish priest of the Parish of Hannahstown with
two churches, the Church of St Joseph and the Church of St Peter the
Rock.
The concert will also showcase other musical talent from across the
diocese. Those lined up for the ‘Celebration of Faith’ concert include
Cappella Caeciliana, the Schola Cantorum, Irish traditional singer
Éamonn Ó Faogáin and a Youth Choir drawn from all over the diocese,
which will sing well-known religious pieces from past and present.
On Saturday 28 September, representatives from parishes across the
diocese, together with clergy, religious communities and many
organisations throughout the diocese will come together for the ‘Living
Faith’ congress.
The congress is intended to provide delegates with an opportunity
to pray and reflect, as well as to take stock and look to the future.
The diocesan pastoral plan will also be launched.
Speakers who will address workshops include Jesuit and campaigner
on homelessness, Fr Peter McVerry, who will talk on ‘Faith that does
Justice’.
Irish Times columnist, Breda O’Brien, will discuss ‘Passing on
the Faith’, while Bishop Alan Abernethy will talk about
‘Reconciliation: The Gospel Story and My story.’
Other speakers include Elizabeth Davies on ‘Church: Everybody’s
Welcome’ and Jim Deeds and John Colgan on ‘Co-responsibility: A Parish
Reality.’
After the workshops, Bishop Noel Treanor is set to give an address
on the congress theme of ‘Our Church, Our Community, Our Commitment.’
