Priest returns to duties after complaint is stood down

A Tipperary priest who had been asked to step aside from his duties two years ago while a complaint against him was investigated, is back on the altar.

Fr Tadhg Furlong celebrated Mass in the parish of Cappawhite last Saturday night after the complaint against him was stood down.

The Advisory Board established by the National Board for Safeguarding Children in the Catholic Church has found that the complaint was not substantiated.

Archbishop Dermot Clifford, who concelebrated Mass with Fr Furlong, has welcomed him back with "unblemished character".
